The urgent migration from private to public cloud delivered a 50% per month cost saving over the previous supplier. Native Azure security, content delivery functions and DDoS prevention tools optimised architecture without compromising performance. The database was doubled to enhance DDOS mitigation and reduce latency. Daily back-ups and disaster recovery processes were locked down.
Additional actions to improve security whilst reducing costs included the reuse of compute power and firewalls, traffic analytics to identify security flags (including dark web) and the re-introduction of a secure SMTP mail server. At all times we used ITIL best practices to manage the hosting and run monthly client reviews.
